TRADITIONAL FARMING IN HUELO MAUI.
HAWAIIAN PLANT
PROPAGATION & PRODUCTION.
This Hawaiian Farm consists of native Hawaiian plants, and tropical crops common to our local demands. The plants grown are in dedication to the protection of our Hawaiian culture and lifestyle. While collecting seeds, and cuttings for propagation, we rebuild our local food system for the current and future demands. Our Hawaiian farm is located off Hana Highway, in the Ahupua’a of Waipio, off the stream of Waipi’o. Our farm is 7 acres on our 10 acre family ‘aina.
The plants grown on the farm are: Mamaki tea, Hawaiian coconuts, Samoan Coconuts, Hawaiian Chili peppers, Hawaiian Citrus, Pohole Fern, Papaya, Hawaiian Kalo, Sweet Potato , ‘Olena & Hawaiian ‘Awa.
Through plant propagation and farm production we hope to enhance our food security while working with Native Hawaiian women who have an inspiration to feed our community.
