Mālama Hawai’i
Set on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii, "Reefs at Risk" explores the harmful effects some sunscreen chemicals have on coral reefs and marine life. In order to protect this fragile ecosystem, Hawaii strives to ban a commonly used UV chemical, called oxybenzone, and hopes that other states and nations will follow.

Hāna Is My Home. Kids of all ages, from keiki (children) to ʻopiʻo (youth), come out to learn at our community farm, Mahele Farm. The community of Hāna helps to gather the harvest. Graduate apprentices who go through our rigorous ag training curriculum work toward mastery of the many aspects of organic farming, while becoming skilled mentors to our younger students.
About: Ma Ka Hana Ka ʻIke (“In Working, One Learns”) is an award-winning vocational training program for at-risk youth in Hāna, Maui—an isolated community on the island’s east coast with over two-thirds its population of Native Hawaiian ancestry. When Ma Ka Hana Ka ‘Ike began 18 years ago, we wanted to teach students in a new way that was actually very old — on real-life projects, with their hands, under the mentorship of their kūpuna.
